Company

Headquartered in Kharagauli, one of the most productive growing regions in Georgia, Caucasan has been engaged in the collection, processing and export of medicinal and culinary herbs, teas, wild berries, and fruits since 1995. It was the first to obtain FairWild certification in the Caucasus, producing herbal teas, jams, honey, traditional sauces, and spices destined for German markets.

Relying on environmentally pristine growing environments, sustainable collection practices, and increasing numbers of farmers obtaining organic certification, the company has grown, increasing exports to new markets including Middle East, EU, and Southeast Asia. In 2019, besides the bulk export, the company also started to produce retail products for private and white labels. Caucasan’s team is oriented on producing high quality traditional rural products and offering them to the global market in new forms.

We aim to increase the accessibility of healthy & organic rural products by using the innovative technologies of production.

Corporate Responsibility

Caucasan is actively promoting sustainable and organic production practices and all of the company’s products are sourced from environmentally responsible producers operating sustainably within Georgia. While not yet fully compliant, it is expected that the entire supply chain will be certified organic by 2022.

Collaborating with the local producers for the raw materials, Caucasan aims to revitalize the high-quality tea production in Georgia, which has been in stagnation for decades.

The company encourages employment in the regions where the outmigration is high due to the lack of job opportunities. Additionally, in partnership with local educational institutions, students are given access to vocational opportunities, learning about and work with premium quality agricultural products. Getting Fair Trade certification is on the list in the upcoming years.

Tea Collection

We believe in sustainability principles, the raw materials for Freeze Tea are collected from the local producers and gatherers in environmentally friendly and pollution free zones of Georgia.

We cooperate with the certified organic tea producers in Imereti for the highest quality flowers.

The wild bilberries are collected in unprocessed, ecologically clean forests of Mountainous Adjara.

Health Benefits

Traditional vs Shock Freezing

It is important to note that freshly picked tea leaves, fruits, and herbs begin losing their flavor and nutritional integrity within hours. Most notably, the healthful qualities derived from tea's powerful mix of antioxidants (catechins), known to reduce inflammation, aid weight loss, and help prevent heart and brain disease, begin to diminish as soon as the leaves are picked. Further degradation occurs from the heat associated with drying, effectively compromising the value of traditionally processed tea.

To preserve these essential qualities, Freeze Tea uses state-of-the-art shock-freezing methodologies shortly after harvest to capture and preserve every possible trace of flavor and nutrition from the tea leaves, fruits, and herbs it collects.

How to prepare

Per Single-Serve – Start by boiling the water, then, place the tea packed in a single-serve 7.5 g Flow pack into the teapot, Pour 250 ml of boiling water in the teapot and wait for 7-8 minutes. Fill your cup and enjoy!
